Planning to buy a modern garden shed? Choosing the right model from the Compact Modern or Vision lines is just the beginning. Proper ground preparation is crucial for the entire structure to be stable, durable, and last for years.
As a manufacturer of premium sheds, at Woodstorm, we pay attention to every detail, including what's happening beneath the floor of your new shed. Here's a simple step-by-step guide to preparing the ground before our installation team arrives.
1. Choosing the Right Substrate
Our modern structures require a firm, stable, and perfectly level ground. You have three best solutions to choose from:
Concrete screed – the most stable and durable option. Ideal if the shed is to serve as a home office or heavy-duty workshop.
Paving stones or concrete slabs – an aesthetic solution that perfectly complements modern garden architecture.
Point foundation made of concrete blocks (foundation blocks) – a quick and economical alternative. The blocks are placed at regular intervals on a hardened sand-cement base.

2. Key Rule: Maintain Clearance
Remember this crucial logistical principle. The area around your planned cabin must be cleared. We require a minimum of 1 meter of clear space on all sides of the structure. This will allow our installers to work safely, precisely, and efficiently when installing walls, glazing, and finishing details.
3. What do you need to provide before our arrival?
At Woodstorm, we respect your time and space. Our installation is exceptionally fast and clean. We are fully independent, which means:
We do not require access to electricity.
We do not require access to water or other utilities.
The installation takes just a few hours.
We bring all the necessary professional equipment and are prepared to operate in all conditions. The only thing on your side is a perfectly level foundation.
